The Regal Building is one of the most splendid and well-known buildings in Bad Kissingen. The building is under monument protection and was designed by Max Littman, an architect from Munich. An application was filed for the building to become UNESCO World Heritage.

The Regal Building was constructed from 1911 to 1913. King Ludwig III inaugurated the finished the Regal Building on 15 and 16 May 1913. Together with the adjacent Arcade Building and the Colonnade, in the direct vicinity of the resort park, the stately and palatial building forms the centre of the Bavarian state spa resort of Bad Kissingen. Somewhat hidden between the Royal Building and the Arcade Building and only visible upon an actual visit, there is the “Schmuckhof", an ornamental court that invites you to linger when the weather is nice.
The Regal Building accommodates the Max Littmann Hall, named in honour of the architect, seating up to 1,000 people and boasting a royal box. It is one of the best concert halls in the world, owing to its cherrywood panelling for excellent acoustics. Furthermore, together with the adjacent “White Hall” and “Green Hall”, it is a popular venue for conventions and events from all realms of music, arts, culture and science.
